Watch as I make a concession to sentimentality and ceremony: This is the last post I'll make to Do You Feel Loved? with Blogger.

Sometime in the next few minutes I'll be republishing this frontpage with a stripped-down bare-bones Movable Type application -- really, this post is just here for posterity. I'm in the mood for change, and if I let one of those moods pass me by it could be a very long time until it comes back around. So adieu, Blogger. You served me well, all told. You changed my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And don't worry. I'd like us to still be friends. ;-)

(Seriously, though, if my grand plans go well, Blogger will remain in use somewhere on this site. No details yet, as I'd like to not be proved wrong.)

So I tip my hat to you, Evan Williams / Pyra, and thank you for your year-and-a-half-plus of faithful service. Now: to the stars!

OK, somebody help me out here. There's a movie or TV show (it could be a comic, actually, but I think I recall hearing it, not reading it) in which adults are talking about something, and they cut to a reaction shot of a child, and the child just gasps "There's so much... evil in the world!" and it's really really funny. If anyone has any idea what the fuck I'm talking about, please let me know. I'm sure it's desperately obvious and I could find it with a Google search...

All it takes is for the sun to start shining (fuckin' gorgeous day in NYC), and all of a sudden I'm inspired to blog again. I was talking about this with Stuart (and later, Jeremy) last night... I'm way, way, way too sensitive to my environment for my own good. On my to-do list today is rearranging my dorm furniture, because I think the current placement of my desk is quashing my creativity.

No, really.

I'm not a dirty hippie, I swear.

Anyway, other things to do today:
  • Buy a printer.
  • Buy Prince's Parade at the Tower Records $7.99 sale AND NOTHING ELSE. I'm way too poor for Warner Bros. to dangle its entire juicy, sensual back catalogue at me for such bargain-basement crack-whore prices... but THEY DO IT EVERY YEAR!
  • Do the laundry. (Dark stuff this time.)
  • Write some e-mails.
  • Make this weblog not suck quite so hard.
Possible dreams all! Let's get rolling!

Tip for making any movie a thousand times better: Right as the end credits begin to roll, pause and mute the film. Then, unpause it and play AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" instead of the film's original score. If the credits are longer than the song, cue up Prince's "Little Red Corvette" to follow.

We just did this with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, if you're wondering. Next up: Dancer In The Dark.

Although I guess I should follow up on the post preceding the last one: Dinner with Josh's sister went fine. In fact, it went more than fine, it went really well. How do I feel about that? Well, that's complicated, and I'm just not interested in sharing in this weblog right now. Blame the rain, because I do.

Bleargh.

We had absolutely gorgeous weather for the first few days I was back in NYC... and now, a never-ending string of grey, drizzly shite days which demoralize me far more than they reasonably should.

Bleargh.

(Yes, I'm so demoralized that all I can bring myself to blog about is the fucking weather, as opposed to the many other things going on in my life... well, actually, to be quite honest, there's only one other thing of merit going on in my life, and it doesn't do to babble about that here too much / too often, so I'll keep quiet until I have classes to bitch about or something...)
