06.26.2006 | My Number's Up

>> Dear God,

This would be a particularly good week for me to win the lottery.

Y'know, just in case you were trying to decide when to schedule that.

Sincerely,
-Chris

  • Free app integrates the iPod into the Finder like any other hard drive, allowing you to copy files from an iPod to a Mac. No reason not to install it, I'm thinking.

06.22.2006 | 1000 Umbrellas

>> Walking back to my office from the Ray's Pizza on Eighth Avenue, I pass the Roseland Ballroom, and apparently there's an AFI show there tonight. They'd already set up a corral a bit down the block for all the kids waiting to get into the show; it's pretty damn bright and hot out, so really this is fairly sensible, but I was amused to see that all the little teen proto-Goths had black umbrellas. Like, seriously, every one of them, identical black umbrellas. It was like they'd sent out a memo or something...

Oh, and confidential to the elderly woman with a cane who told the cash register guy at Ray's to "go back to his own country and learn some manners" after he asked her to, y'know, pay for her food: Drop dead. Thanks.

06.11.2006 | As Good As It Gets

>> It just occured to me that I don't think I spent a single unpleasant moment this weekend. Sure, there was some just-so-so stuff, but honestly, that was mainly just waiting for trains or whatever. Otherwise, the entire weekend was hardcore out-of-control great. There was boozing, there were tacos, there were lots of comic books and sunlight and dinosaurs and schmoozing and movies and great TV and friends and cute boys. Yes indeed, it was a fucking excellent weekend. And I didn't even have time to go to the BBQ Block Party or the Grant Morrison signing and it was still an out-of-control great weekend. And I have a four-day week at work this week! I give summer an A-plus. Keep up the good work, summer!

06.09.2006 | Our Show Is Going To Rock Ultimate

>> Really this is a link-loggy entry, but it was timely and incredibly important: Don't miss Matthew's interview with Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley. You absolutely must download the song that is Scott Pilgrim's namesake, as well. And don't forget, O'Malley will be at MoCCA this weekend, so you should give him money in exchange for goods...

  • Holy shit, it's the MoCCA Festival this weekend. Has it seriously been a year since the last one? God, I'm getting old. Anyway, this is an absolute must for all NYC comics fans. This year, I intend to buy a shitload of books...
