Is iTunes the same as iDVD - where you can only use the burner that came with your computer?

Hey, this is just a guess since I've been away from a Mac-based studio for a while.

I seem to recall that recent Macs have installed movie-editing programs (iMovies? Something like that?) If I recall correctly, you can import the .ACC file, and then export the "movie" (which is in this case really just the audio) as an AIFF file. Is that useful at all?

hi chris, i thought you'd like to know about INTO THE HEART (www.intotheheart.com), a massive u2 fan gathering taking place in my hometown. you'll have a blast... :) maybe i'll see you (?).

iTunes can be used with external burners; just not this particular make and model. There's a list of "approved" burners on Apple's site, but like a moron, I didn't check it, since, as I mentioned before, this is the only burner available in their online store and I just ass-u-me-d that it would work. I'm very, very pissed.

August, I'll look into that workaround, but I'm still pretty upset about not being able to use iTunes for burning at all... thanks, though.

You might be able to find the 10.2.8 update on kazaa (using MiMac), maybe. I got it before they pulled it, but I think it's making my iPod sync funny.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the stand alone version of the update, I just let the Software Update do it for me. Otherwise I'd be able to help.

Yeah, it's available on kazaa. If you can't find it, AIM Andy8214 and I'll send it.

Thanks Andy, but actually I can't use 10.2.8, because I think the bug they pulled 10.2.8 for would, in fact, affect my computer -- it's an Ethernet thing.

What I want to know is, you're getting an external burner, an external hard drive, and using it to connect to your iPod... why do you have a laptop again? ;)

Aaah, I see. Like I say, I seem to have been lucky. I think my computer might be doing some weird stuff as a result, but nothing too crucial.

Umm, just thought I'd tell you they fixed 10.2.8 and rereleased it.

Please note: After a certain period of time, all comments threads are closed and further comments cannot be added -- this is to prevent abuse of the system by spammers and trolls. I know it's obnoxious, but in this sad world it simply has to be that way. If you've got something to say about a post with disabled comments, feel free to send me an e-mail. If your comment doesn't seem to show up after you've posted it, then it may contain a word or term that's on my blacklist (another anti-spam measure); some prescription-drug names and p0rn-related terms trigger it, as does the word "socialism" (look inside of it, think about erection medication, and maybe you'll figure it out). My apologies for the inconvenience.
