Do You Feel Loved?
Comments on Entry: All-New, All-Different

That Essential X-Men #5 is getting close to the end of my own collecting run...I checked out very soon after the Mutant Massacre/Fall of the Mutants stuff.

I'm surprised there's gonna be another one -- the end of the Vol. 4 marked the point at which UNCANNY started crossing over with NEW MUTANTS and other titles on a pretty regular basis, so I assumed they'd end the Essential line there since the stories would be almost unreadable without their component parts. I'm glad it's kept on truckin', however -- it's saving me a small fortune in back-issue costs. As pathetic and unrewarding as it is, I'm determined to read every issue of at least UNCANNY X-MEN and X-MEN before I die...

Why do they have to fuck around with the comics like this. This is the reason why I stopped reading X-men. (That and I can't afford to support the habit. I'm more of a Spidey fan anyway.) But SERIOUSLY! C'mon now.

I'm not a casual X-Men reader, or anything Marvel for that matter; the only comic I semi-follow is Batman every now and then.

But from distant memory, it feels as though at least six or seven times in my life they've "reset" the X-Men. I seem to recall reading at least a half-dozen slightly-different X-Men origin stories.

Everything's staying in-continuity, August, it's just new creative teams. (Largely underwhelming new creative teams.)

Please note: After a certain period of time, all comments threads are closed and further comments cannot be added -- this is to prevent abuse of the system by spammers and trolls. I know it's obnoxious, but in this sad world it simply has to be that way. If you've got something to say about a post with disabled comments, feel free to send me an e-mail. If your comment doesn't seem to show up after you've posted it, then it may contain a word or term that's on my blacklist (another anti-spam measure); some prescription-drug names and p0rn-related terms trigger it, as does the word "socialism" (look inside of it, think about erection medication, and maybe you'll figure it out). My apologies for the inconvenience.
